2007 Domaine Le Colombier Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes
91+, Robert Parker
Le Colombier’s 2007 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes, composed of old vine
Grenache (80%) and Mourvedre (20%), is fermented and aged in concrete
vats in order to preserve the fruit. The dark red fruit flavors show
exceptional ripeness and amazing depth, and the wine dazzles with
“[p]owerful aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry and tobacco, plus a
subtle hint of black pepper.” Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer's
International Wine Cellar, January 2009. “The wine is powerful, pure,
layered, and altogether a brilliant example of Vacqueyras that should
drink nicely for 6-8 years.” Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, October 2009
2007 Domaine Le Colombier Vacqueyras Cuvée “G”

92, Wine Spectator; 90, Robert Parker
The Domaine’s 2007 Vacqueyras Cuvée “G” contains old vine Grenache (50%)
and Syrah (50%), and is aged for 10 months in one-year old French Oak
after its initial maceration in concrete vats. This full-bodied wine
exhibits a complex bouquet of flowers and ripe dark fruits, an extremely
well balanced mouth-feel with silky tannins and an exceptionally long
finish. “Seductive, full-bodied, and exhibiting some toasty vanilla
notes that are not dominant or intrusive, this is a beauty to drink over
the next 5-6 years.” Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, October 2009.
Le Colombier’s 2007 Vacqueyras Cuvée “G” and Vieilles Vignes are exceptional wines that should not be missed.
